Carmel’s Tram

Vulture St & Edmonstone St & Hamstead St, South Brisbane QLD
Carmel Court, the building adjacent to my traffic light box was built in 1937 as rental accommodation for a booming workforce that wanted to live close to the tram lines which once ran along Vulture Street. My TSB design pays hommage to the Art Deco architectural style that was so popular at this time provides a snapshot into the local history of the area.

You must be a resident of Brisbane ie. living within the Brisbane City Council area.
You must not be an employee of Brisbane City Council.
You must not have painted more than two traffic signal boxes in a four year period and not in consecutive years.
