Our Indro

Moggill Rd (Pedestrian Crossing) & Nelson St, Indooroopilly QLD
My design “Our Indro” is a piece exploring the history of Indooroopilly and its once blooming agriculture in the 1860s. Now one of the most family friendly suburbs in Brisbane, this traffic box design aims to educate others on how far we’ve come and to foster a sense of community. For if without each other, we would not be where we are now. Along with its history in agriculture, the portrayal of the well known, Indooroopilly shopping centre is another way in which this traffic box design is related to the local area. With a bag of seeds and a basket full of fruit, this depiction portrays the careful and thoughtful process farmers undertake to provide us with the fresh and tasty fruit we buy and enjoy at our local Woolworths, Aldi or Coles, all present at Indooroopilly shopping centre. Through this design, I am hoping to give the viewers a sense of appreciation, gratitude and satisfaction with how far we’ve come as a community.
