Whirling Waters

Ipswich Rd & Balaclava St, Woolloongabba QLD
Just a few porky pigs living it up in a flooded Woolloongabba._x000D_ _x000D_ The artwork concept is based on the traditional Aboriginal origins of the name, thought perhaps to derive from ‘woolloon’ and ‘capemm’, meaning ‘whirling waters’. The rising waters also reflect the recent floods in the area – paying tribute to the resilience of the community flourishing during these times, as well as acting as an ominous warning of the dangerous potential future of our environment.
